Three families lived by the lighthouse Långe Jan (“Tall Jan”). You can see the lighthouse-keeper’s house behind the gate on the left hand side.

Back in the early 20th century, the next white house to the left was a school. Today you can find the public toilets here.
When Fia was a child, this was a residence for military personnel.
On the right you can see the yellow lodge where the assistant lighthouse-keepers lived and thereafter the lighthouse-keeper’s house. When Fia lived here, the exterior was in traditional wood paneling, painted red.
