They can weigh anything from a few grams to several kilos. They propel themselves through the air for thousands of miles. And they’ve always held a special fascination for humans.

Here at Ottenby Bird Observatory, they’ve been ring-marking birds since 1946. Generations of enthusiasts have collected knowledge about our birds, how they live and where they move.

Ottenby Bird Observatory is administered by the Swedish Ornithological Society.
